He was predeceased by: his parents, Max "Kenny" and Darlene Hunt (Newell); his siblings, Kathy Rozendall and Kenny Hunt; and his nephews, Joshua Hunt and Adam Steele.

He is survived by: his wife Deb Hunt of Fairfield; his children, Daniel Hunt (Donni), Abby Jackson (Jacob) of Newton and Samantha Hunt of Pella; his grandchildren, Ethan Jackson, Elliot Jackson, Caragh Jackson, Corie Jackson, Harriet Hunt and Hannah Hunt; and his siblings, Roy Hunt of Alabama, Max Hunt (Mary) of Grinnell, Karen Johnson of Oskaloosa and Linda Mattix (Rick) of Des Moines.

Memorials may be made to the family to be determined at a later date.
