It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Max Lee Shackelford of Fairfield, Iowa, born in Oskaloosa, Iowa, who passed away on August 29, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Shackelford and Pearl Martin Shackelford; his sisters, Marlys, Linda and Joan; and his half-sister Lois Ann.
He is survived by: his family Max; his wife Linda Shackelford of Douds, IA; and his half-sister Dotty Davis (Don) of Missouri.
Memorial contributions in Max's honor may be directed to the Doud's Fire and EMS or to the Van Buren County Ambulance in honor of the great care they provided for Max whenever they were needed.
