LeRoy M. Gilbert Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of LeRoy M. Gilbert of Fairfield, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 1, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid LeRoy farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For LeRoy is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his mother Evelyn Rosetta Ramsey Gilbert; his brother James Gilbert; and his granddaughter Darby Gilbert. He is survived by: his father Gordon Towne; his wife Dorothy Watson; his children, Stuart Gilbert (Kaye) of Stockport and Cindy Hewitt (Mike Holcomb) of Agency; his grandsons, Wyatt Gilbert and Sam Dickinson (Kate); and his great grandchildren, Serenity, Jaxson and Olivia. He is also survived by extended family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cranston Family Funeral Home-Keosauqua (1517 Broad St, Keosauqua, IA 52565). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
