He was predeceased by: his parents, Mervin Heckethorn and Bessie Heckethorn (Schultz); his pet Ringo; his grandson Joey Heckethorn; and his son-in-law Renny Cook.
He is survived by: his spouse Lois "Jackie" Dill; his children, Julie Cook (Kirk Condon) of Ottumwa, Jodie Heckethorn of Fairfield, Ronnie Heckethorn of Fairfield and Randy Heckethorn of Fairfield; and his siblings, Jean Spalla (John), Elmer Heckethorn (Patty), Dick Heckethorn (Audrey), Bub Heckethorn (Sally) and Kathy Winland (Cliff). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren.
