He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Sherry Louth; his mother Wilma Smith; his brother Jay Smith; his father Marlin Smith (Mary) of Fairfield, IA; and his brothers, Larry Smith (Diana) of Birmingham, IA and David Smith of Cedar Rapids, IA. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
