Maynard George Luth Obituary
Maynard George Luth, 71, of Fairfax, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW, Cedar Rapids. A private family burial will take place at Czech National Cemetery.
Maynard was born on August 22, 1953, in St. Charles, Missouri, to Donald and Loretta (Gloe) Luth. He graduated from Northwest High School in House Springs, MO and Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, IA. He went on to work as a manufacturing engineer at Rockwell Goss and Rockwell Collins for many years.
On September 27, 1980, he married Cindy Flowers, and though they later divorced in 2010, they shared a deep love for their family.
Maynard had a passion for watching Iowa Hawkeye sports, playing cards, camping with friends and family, and boating. However, nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his beloved grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Luth, and son, Brett (Tabitha) Luth; three grandchildren, Emma, Kaydin, and Ethan; and his brothers, Gene (Jackie) Luth, Virgil (Lilly) Luth, and Carl (Nancy) Luth, along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Wayne.
The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Maynard’s honor to the Mayo Clinic Brain Tumor Program at https://give.mayoclinic.org.
