With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Eldon Banes of Fairfax, Iowa, who passed away on August 15, 2024 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Banes and Lulu Banes; his brother Bill Banes; and his sister-in-law Louise Banes. He is survived by: his wife Francine D. Linnenkamp of Fairfax; his children, J. R. Banes (Becki) of Toddville, Curtis Banes (Calleen) of Cedar Rapids, Tom Banes of Fairfax and Lauralee Heusing (John) of Amana; and his grandchildren, Corey Banes (Vicky) of Cedar Rapids, Cody Lucky (Dan) of Fairfax, Jordan Brown (Tim) of Cedar Rapids, Riley Forbes (Kyle) of Marion, Cameron Eubanks (Sami) of Alburnett, Spencer Eubanks of Ladora and Jake Heusing (Cora) of Anamosa. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.
