He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Brecht and Anna Brecht (Spelleberg); his son Brian John Brecht; his parents-in-law, Carroll and Lilah Sass; and his brothers, Bill and Bob Brecht.
He is survived by: his wife Jeanne Brecht of Fairfax; his children, Christine Flickinger of Cedar Rapids and Shawn Brecht of Yukon, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Jesse of Kayla, DJ, Danielle, Mason Brecht, Leah Brenneman, Sara Nguyen and Breanna Flickinger; his sister Joyce Vosdingh; his great grandchildren, Talon, Khloe, Lodan and Shalee; and his nieces and nephews, Jax, Watson, Oakley and Penny.
