Dean DeVere Hartman Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Dean DeVere Hartman of Fairfax, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 6, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Hartman and Ruth Hartman (Leinbach); his former wife Donna Barkey; and his brother Max Hartman (Brenda). He is survived by: his wife Rachel Munger-Hartman; his children, Sarah Yoder (Scott) of Middlebury, IN, Rachel Smith of Newberg, OR, Mark Hartman (Sharon) of Colorado Springs, CO and Elizabeth "Libby" Underwood (Lowell) of Fairfax; his stepson Shawn Munger of Solon; his grandchildren, Nicole Yoder, Jesse Yoder (Stephanie), Nathan Yoder (Shelli), Anthony Yoder, Carmen Hawk (Christopher), Josiah Smith, Jadon Smith (Gracie), Leya Hartman, Wesley Hartman, Hannah Hilk (Colin), Bethany Kester (Jack) and Abigail Underwood; and his brother Keith Hartman (Kathy) of Blairsville, GA.. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 2nd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Stonebridge Church (1829 Stoney Point Rd NW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 5th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Olive Cemetery West (61081 Co Rd 3, Elkhart, IN 46517).
