He was predeceased by: his parents, David Owens and Vera Owens (Terpstra); his wife Margaret Meckley; his sister Patsy Evans; his brother-in-law Frank Evans; and his niece Katie Darbyshire.
He is survived by: his son Mark Owens (Becky) of Fairbank; and his granddaughters, Kara Owens of Atlanta, GA and Gina Owens of Marion.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic guidelines restricting gatherings to no more than 10 people there will be a private family graveside service.
Memorials may be directed to the Fairbank United Methodist Church, the Fairbank, Oran or Readlyn Fire Departments or to the family.
