She was predeceased by: her parent Beverly Gerken (Essman); and her mother-in-law Marilyn Bruns. She is survived by: her father John Gerken (Beverly Gerken) of George, Iowa; her husband Matt Bruns of Elk Horn, Iowa; her sons, Cole Bruns of Spirit Lake and Cade Bruns (Jacey Anthofer) of Ankeny, Iowa; her siblings, Roxanne (Todd Geerdes) of Brandon and B. J. (Sasha Gerken) of George; her father-in-law Raymond Bruns of Britt, Iowa; and her brothers-in-law, Brian (Alice Bruns) of Sioux City, Iowa, Dirk (Carol Bruns) of Mason City, Iowa, Eric (Ellen Bruns) of Britt and Wade (Vari Bruns) of Fruitland, Iowa. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts and uncles, and other relatives and close friends.
