He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold "Sandy" McClain and Muriel McClain (Whitmore); his siblings, Mary Lou (Paul Froelich), Jim McClain and Kenneth "Skeeter" McClain; and his parents-in-law, Harold and Doris Akers.
He is survived by: his wife Kristi McClain of Exira; his children, Cheyenne McClain (Michelle) of Bellevue, Bridy Shepard of Ankeny and Shawn McClain (Jimmy) of Waukee; his brother Gordon McClain (Cindi) of Johnstown Colorado; his siblings-in-law, Donna McClain of Kimballton, Mike Akers (Lori) of Colorado Springs and Todd Akers (Angel) of Colorado Springs; and his grandchildren, Owen, Evan, Maddy Shepard of Ankeny, Chandler, Carter and Camden Short of Bellevue. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
