It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charlene Jespersen of Exira, Iowa, born in Harlan, Iowa, who passed away on November 9, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Mathisen and Mabel Mathisen (Rasmussen); her husband Russell Jespersen; her children, Paula Ratzlaff and Monte Jespersen; and her brothers-in-law, Kenneth Crees and Don Lauritsen.
She is survived by: her sons, Randy Jespersen of Exira, IA, Keith Jespersen (Vickie) of Atlantic, IA, Scott Jespersen of Panama City, FL and Mitch Jespersen (Fannie) of Snellville, GA; her daughter-in-law Deb Jespersen of Red Oak, IA; her grandchildren, Shawn Jespersen (Tara), Christy Jespersen, Christopher Jespersen, Shane Jespersen, Trisha Clark, Amy Ratzlaff, Alan Ratzlaff (Jillian), Adam Ratzlaff (Brittney), Carrie Ross, Alexis Duckett (J. R.), Jamie Williams (Jake), Weston Jespersen, Gage Jespersen, Austin Jespersen, Trey Jespersen, Samuel Jespersen (Nicole), Stephen Jespersen (Janelle), Joseph Jespersen (Rocio) and Daniel Jespersen; her siblings, Joan Crees-Lauritsen of Harlan, IA and Rick Mathisen (Beverly) of Kimballton, IA; and her sisters-in-law, Harriet Lewis of Des Moines, IA and Jane Davis of Audubon, IA. She is also survived by 25 great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
