We are sad to announce that on July 20, 2023, at the age of 70, Douglas Edwin Geerdes (Everly, Iowa) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Edwin Theodore Geerdes; his brother Dwight "Joe" Geerdes; his sister-in-law Barbara Geerdes (Dale); and his parents-in-law, Clarence and Shirley Wede (Toft).
He is survived by: his mother Ellen Geerdes (Hirt); his wife Kathy (Wede); his brothers, Dale, John (Karen) and Dean Geerdes (Peg); his children, Sara Geerdes, Lee Geerdes (Katie), Laura Siems (Mark), Emily Geerdes, Eddie Geerdes (Emily) and Stacey Benson (Nate); and his grandchildren, Lilly, Taylor, Elizabeth, Logan, Josie, Marshal and Jason.
MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS. In lieu of flowers, the family requests monetary donations that will be divided between the Clay County Fair's "Pen by Pen" charity which is funding new pens for the livestock pavilion and the Walsh Family Village in Sioux Falls, SD.
