He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas W. Harvey and Opal V. Kirkendall Harvey; his former spouse Beverly Crumm; his wife Bertha M. Hartman; his stepparents, Burt Johnson and Nellie Harvey; and his stepson Charles Hartman, Jr..
He is survived by: his former wife Elaine Sortadahl; his children, Becky Frisch (Tim) of Grundy Center, Beth Anne Zingg (Kent) of Waterloo and Steven Fogarty (Linda) of Farmington; and his stepson Edward Hartman (Julie) of Montezuma. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
