He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen Nichols and Geneva Nichols (Ohloff); his son Terry; his granddaughter Lindsay Nichols; his siblings, John, Gerald, Lores Nichols and Joanne Chase; and his siblings-in-law, Steve Gehrke, Jim Larson, Diane Nichols and Arlita Nichols.
He is survived by: his wife Jurly Gustafson; his children, Susan Schneiderman (Brad) of Evansdale, Alan Nichols (Leslie) of Evansdale, Thomas Nichols (Janet) of Evansdale, Bryan Nichols (Hector Aviles) of Wilton Manors and Brenda Miller (Rodney); his siblings, Robert Nichols (Bobbie) of Evansdale, Bill Nichols (Mary) of Evansdale, Marlin Nichols (Becky Vauthier) of Evansdale, Glenda Gehrke Larson and Cathy Sheeley (Doug); his sisters-in-law, Norma and Betty Nichols; and his grandchildren, Tara Adams (Chad), Tanya Engel (Jon), Shannon Engel (Jered), Mark Miller (Nikki), Elizabeth Miller (Justin Atwood), Jacob Nichols (Betsie), Melissa Dullea (Chris), Joseph Nichols (Heather), Christopher Nichols (Sarah Scoggin), Daniel Nichols, Maggie Nichols and Benjamin Nichols (Meredith). He is also survived by 28 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
