He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ahlhelm and Barbara Weis Ahlhelm; and his siblings, Ralph, Robert, Donald, Madeline Schellhorn, Irene Petersen and Elaine Berry.
He is survived by: his wife Jan; his children, Dawn Rice (Steven) of Dysart, Russell Ahlhelm (Leslie) of Oskaloosa and Nicholas Ahlhelm (Gloria) of Marion; his stepsons, Jeffrey Osborne (Teresa Werning) of Muscatine and Joel Osborne (Kristi) of Evansdale; and his sister-in-law Barb Ahlhelm of Waterloo. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.
