He is survived by: his grandson George (Nancy) of Waterloo; his children, James Smith, Eric Smith and Kim Symonds (Chuck) of Evansdale; his grandchildren, Katie Cary, Kelli Barton and Gabe Benson; his daughter Tammy Chapin of Waterloo; his grandchildren, Torey Smith, Tia Velasquez and Seth Velasquez; his son Jeff (Brenda); his grandchildren, Brooke Smith-Waldron, Lelani Smith-O'Donnell, Natalie Fischels and Jordan Kennedy; his daughter Cindy Geiger of Evansdale; his grandchildren, Trevis Shimp, Nicholas Geiger and Nathan Geiger; and his brother-in-law Sam Genolous of Cedar Falls. He is also survived by 32 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.
