With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Russell A Hecht (Estherville, Iowa), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 22, 2024 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilfred Hecht and Sara Mildred Hecht (Headley); his stepmother Wilma Hecht; his son Brian Hecht; and his siblings, Robert, Richard, Bill Hecht and Shirley Boyer.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane of Spirit Lake; his children, Kathy Zinn (Kevin) of Lake Park, Jeff Hecht (Crystal Nissen) of Estherville, Becky Hanson (Bill) of Riverside, Greg Hecht (Molly) of Estherville and Shelley Miller (Kevin) of Spirit Lake; his brother Ken Hecht (Diana) of Grants Pass; and his sisters-in-law, Mary Hecht of Jackson and Donna Hecht of Sherburn, Minnesota.. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel-Estherville (401 N 7th St, Estherville, IA 51334). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Estherville Lutheran Church (208 N 8th St, Estherville, IA 51334).
