Rozella Swalve Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rozella Swalve (Estherville, Iowa), born in Emmetsburg, Iowa, who passed away on February 3, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Sieger Planting and Velma Planting (Jacobs); her great grandchild Gracie Hansen; her siblings, Russell Planting (Jean), Rojean Jacobsen and Robert Planting; and also, Richard Swalve (Ethel), Roy Swalve (Mata), Frances Beitz (Fred), Johnny Isebrand (Nettie), Annie Schroeder (Harry), Sena McGreggor (Forrest), Everet Swalve (Jennie), Tillie Graff (Andy), Otto Swalve (Norma), Doc Swalve (Betty), Elsie Selberg (Harold), Anita Barlow (Vern), Ada Williams (Dick) and Leona Kleine (Chuck).

She is survived by: her husband Andrew Swalve of Estherville; her children, Jeff Swalve (Lurene) of Estherville, Tim Swalve (Pat) of Estherville, Larry Swalve (Kay) of Cylinder and Deb Karels (Mike) of Estherville; her grandchildren, Jessica Pohlman (Jarred), Emily Hansen (Chad), Austin Swalve (Jessica), Corin Jensen (Nate), Stephanie Johnson (Joe), Bryon Swalve (Amber), Megan Madson (Aaron), Taylor Karels (Mike Coppage), Rachel Meyer, Travis Meyer, Jerri Soukup (Kirby), Colyn Johnson (Anna) and Jayden Johnson (Tyson Kruse); and her siblings-in-law, Ronnie Jacobsen and Rose Planting. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel-Estherville (401 N 7th St, Estherville, IA 51334). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Estherville Lutheran Church (208 N 8th St, Estherville, IA 51334).

Memorials are preferred to Cornerstone Global Methodist Church of Estherville.
