It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Margaret Dalen of Estherville, Iowa, born in Graettinger, Iowa, who passed away on July 16, 2020, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Westergard and Venita Westergard (Hansen); her husband Irven Dalen; her son Rodney Dalen; her son-in-law James Johnson; and her siblings, Elaine Henningsen, Doris Peton, Marlys Kiehl, Donald Westergard, Edna Mett, Richard Westergard, Helen Souders and Lyle Westergard.
She is survived by: her children, Irlan Dalen (Terry) of Estherville, Francene Johnson of Sheldon, Iowa, Larry Dalen of San Diego, California, Jerry Dalen of Estherville, Marlene Nitchals (Daniel) of Mason City, Iowa, Ivan Dalen (Denise) of Graettinger and Brenda Moore (Dennis) of Wallingford; her grandchildren, Aaron Johnson (Kristi), April Goebel (Jerry), Jody Dalen, Jason Dalen (Nicole), Haley Dalen, Logan Dalen, Sarah Dirksen (Jerrad), Samantha Gappa (Drew), Stephanie Craig (Ryan), Michael Dalen (Brooke), Tyler Dalen, Kyle Dalen, Jessica Mortel (Mikkel), Jennifer Moore and Joe Moore (Abby); her sisters, Shirley Anderson and Carol Morrow; her siblings-in-law, Franklin Mett, Janet Westergard, Ardie Westergard, Ethel Dalen and Bonnie Dalen; and her close friends, Jim and Karel Bishop. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
