She was predeceased by: her parents, LeRoy Dahna and Virginia Dahna (Hansen); her husband Merlyn Thornburg; and her siblings, Betty Lowenberg, Darlene Olson and Ronnie Hansen.

She is survived by: her children, Roger Thornburg (Cathy) of Estherville, Myra Snyder (Bob Sathoff) of Estherville and Danny Thornburg (Kate) of Fairmont, Minnesota; her grandchildren, Paul Thornburg, Kristen Albaugh, Allen Snyder, Laura Snyder, Sara Snyder, Joshua Thornburg, Jonathon Thornburg and Danyelle Hansen; her great grandchildren, Madison Snyder, Malaki Hansen, Isabelle Hansen, Blake Bresler, Brielle Beardsley, Elise Beardsley, Cody Vulich, Brayden Vulich, Quinn Thornburg and Isla Thornburg; and her brother Raymond Dahna (Kathy) of Estherville.
