He was predeceased by: his parents, Burr Chipman and Thaila Chipman (Gardner); his wife Clara Crittenden; his siblings, Marvin Chipman (Nancy) and Ruth Snow (Leo); his son-in-law David Hanby; and his grandsons-in-law, Larry Jensen and Donnie Geisinger.
He is survived by: his children, Don Chipman (Betty) of Mason City, Joyce Griffith of Estherville, Nancy Hanby of Estherville and Lee Chipman of Estherville; and his granddaughters, Christy Adams (Clayton), Tammy Jensen, Tina Friesner, Dawn Geisinger and Holly Hanby. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren.
