He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Rose and Nellie Rose (Barber); and his siblings, Doris Rose, Opal Smith and Loren Rose.
He is survived by: his wife Lucille McCoy; his children, John Rose (Lois), Diane Schaefer (Richard) of Monticello, MN, Barbara Rose of Kew Gardens, NY and Richard Rose of Manhattan, NY; his grandchildren, Lauri Smith (Nick) of Santa Fe, NM, Edward Rose (Kristyn) of Davenport, IA, Jill Jenson (Adam) of McKinney, TX, Kristin Schaefer of Austin, TX and Mark Schaefer of Monticello, MN; and his great grandchildren, Ethan, Collin, Owen, Cecelia Jenson of McKinney, TX, Sophie Cornish, Alex, Ella Rose of Davenport, IA, Kyle, Ryan, Hailey and Chris Schaefer of Monticello, MN. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to Grace United Methodist Church of Spencer , or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
