He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur L. Yates and Elva M. Yates (Minor); his wife Joyce Darlene Aanonson; and his siblings, Neva Higgins, Ruth Lungren, Edna Webster, Alice Prentice, Faye Hosteller and Glen Yates.
He is survived by: his children, Douglas Yates (Charlene) of Buffalo, Minnesota and Susan Bueltel (Douglas) of Spirit Lake, Iowa; and his grandsons, Matthew Yates of Portland, Oregon, Nathan Yates of Apple Valley, Minnesota and Jonathan Bueltel of Spirit Lake. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, Arnie requests memorials to a charity of the donor's choice.
