Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved John Kennedy (Epworth, Iowa), born in Dubuque, Iowa, who passed away at the age of 88, on July 18, 2018. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Kennedy and Lillian Kennedy (Haigh); his sons, John L. Kennedy II, Michael Kennedy and James A. Kennedy; his daughter-in-law Nancy Kennedy; and his siblings, Robert D. Kennedy, George Kennedy (LaVonne), Jerry Kennedy (Joyce), Jim Kennedy (Dean), Jean Langtimm (Duane) and Juanita Oswald (Leo).
He is survived by: his wife May Lou "Moomie" Kennedy of Epworth; his children, Jean Ernst (Steve) of Dubuque, Lily Lange (Robert) of Asbury, Mary Lou Graham (Bill) of Kingston, Dan Kennedy of Dubuque, Linda Goerdt (Kevin), Lori Kramer (Phil), Robert Kennedy (Rianne) of Dubuque and Tom Kennedy of Epworth; his daughters-in-law, RaeAnn Kennedy of Dubuque and Val Grimm Kennedy of Farley; and his siblings, Joan Vosberg (Terry) of Hazel Green, WI, Milton "Sonny" Gassman (Rayetta) of Dubuque and Terry Gassman (Tammie) of Galena, IL.. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers a John L. Kennedy Memorial fund has been established to purchase a bench to go on the Heritage Trail in memory of him.
