He was predeceased by: his parents, Engold Mortenson and Sigrid Mortenson (Simonsen); his wife Janet Snavely; his granddaughter Calista Fjetland; and his siblings, Ellen Baysinger, Shirley Struve, Joanne Lewis, Harris Mortenson, Lawrence Mortenson and Jim Mortenson.
He is survived by: his children, Bob, Sheryl Mortenson of Emmetsburg, Jeff, Kathy Mortenson of Mallard, Cory, Tammy Mortenson of Emmetsburg, Iowa, Julie, Kevin Carver of Faucett, Shari, Coke Fjetland of Emmetsburg, Tonya Petersen and Madhan Prabhakaran of Emmetsburg, Iowa; and his siblings-in-law, Fran Mortenson of Dickens, Iowa, Jeanine Snavely of Emmetsburg, Karen Mortenson of Spirit Lake, Iowa and Keith Snavely. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.
