She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Ernest Halstead, Sr. and Hilda (Warda); her husband Ralph William Payton; her sister Jean "Toots" Rancatore (Halstead); her children, Richard "Dick" Payton of Emmetsburg, Robert "Bob" Payton (Lynell) of Green Valley and Mary Jean Curtis (Payton) of Polk City, Iowa; and her grandchildren, Jamie, Jessica, Marshall, Alyssa, Shawn, Kyle, Collin, Erin and Ariel. She was also cherished by fourteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great, grandchildren, along with many cherished in-laws, extended family and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to Emmetsburg Senior Center.
