He was predeceased by: his parents, George Neilson and Rachel Neilson (Holte); his son Curt Neilson; his sister Glenadine Boecker; and his son-in-law James De Berg.
He is survived by: his children, Don Nita De Berg of Sibley, Kenneth Neilson, Jr. of Graettinger, Michelle Neilson of Sioux Falls, Brian Neilson of Sioux Falls and David Neilson (Lynn) of Graettinger, Iowa. He is also survived by six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends.
