It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan Firkins in Emmetsburg, Iowa, who passed away on December 9, 2020, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Hauschen and Frances Hauschen (Foust); her husband Leon Firkins; and her siblings, John, Regan, Estelle, Jean and Mary.
She is survived by: her children, Kevin Firkins of Emmetsburg, Kermit Firkins of Des Moines, Alan Firkins (Carla) of Emmetsburg, Aaron Firkins (Rhonda) and Judy Held (John) of Merrill, Iowa; her grandchildren, Jonathan Firkins, Joshua Firkins, Jeremy Firkins, Jacob Firkins, Justin Firkins, Cody Firkins, Nathan Held, Logan Held and Danielle Firkins; her great grandchildren, Caton, Andrew, Aubrie, Rylie, Bella, Talon, Ally, Carly, Tatum, Brynlee, Beckett, Carter, Gavin, Gauge, Rylan and Bashlin; and her sisters, June Manwarren of Emmetsburg and Bernice Lillegard of Stockbridge, Georgia. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.
