He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Cornelius and Esther Cornelius (Behrends); his stepfather Mickey Gappa; his siblings, Francis Cornelius, Matthew Gappa and Patricia Rider; and his great-nephew Justin Dixon.
He is survived by: his wife Connie Jean Jurries of Emmetsburg, Iowa; his daughters, Angela Cornelius of Emmetsburg, Brenda Christensen (John) of Emmetsburg and Rebecca Niederkofler (Joe) of Forest City, Iowa; his grandchildren, Jordan Christensen, Katelyn Christensen, Dylan Frink and Kayla Frink; his great grandchild Aaliyah Lawson; and his sisters, Judy Thurston (Blaine) of Spencer, Karen Goettsche of Emmetsburg and Margaret Krall (Richard) of Boone, Iowa. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.
