It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Fern Schmidt of Emmetsburg, Iowa, born in Carroll, Iowa, who passed away on May 14, 2020, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Seymore S. Gidel and Alta M. Gidel (Fowlie); her husbands, Willard Anderson and Harvey Schmidt; her siblings, V. Fay Gidel and Merwyn Gidel; and her daughter-in-law Sheila Anderson.
She is survived by: her friends, Mike and Lois Jurries; her children, Gary N. Anderson of Mallard, Linda F. Baublitz of Alexander, Virginia and Wanda J. Thilges (Leroy) of Fort Dodge, Iowa; and her sister Arlene Schmidt of Kalispell, Montana. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandson.
