She was predeceased by: her parents, George D. Freeman and Grace Freeman (Ferguson); her son-in-law John Walden; her sisters, Jeanine Spies, Corrine Ashby and Linda Berkland; and her brothers-in-law, Roger Berkland and Ron Mullen.
She is survived by: her daughters, Kay Hofstad Swalve (Larry) of Cylinder and Tami Walden (Ken Willis) of Carpenter, Wyoming; her grandchildren, Jerri Soukup (Kirby), Colyn Johnson (Anna), Jayden Johnson (Tyson Kruse), Stephanie Johnson (Joe) and Bryon Swalve (Amber); her great grandchildren, Hallie, Hank, Jack, Brigston and Delaney; her siblings, George Freeman of Sallisaw, Oklahoma and Judy Mullen of Emmetsburg, Iowa; and her brothers-in-law, John Spies of Emmetsburg and Jack Ashby of Iowa City, Iowa. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Martin-Mattice Funeral Home (704 Grand Ave, Emmetsburg, IA 50536). A prayer was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
