With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Bill Smith of Emmetsburg, Iowa, who passed away on April 9, 2025 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Bill had on those he encountered along his journey. Though Bill may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Smith and Elaine Smith (Gappa); his siblings, Cathy Peters and Tom Smith; and his brother-in-law Dan Orwig.
He is survived by: his siblings, Charles Smith (Chris) of Indianola, Pat Smith (Kathy) of Graettinger, Andy Smith of Graettinger, Iowa, Connie Smith of Emmetsburg, Karen Orwig of Rolfe and Kim Smith of Sioux Falls. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Martin-Mattice Funeral Home (704 Grand Ave, Emmetsburg, IA 50536). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
