With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert McFarland of Ely, Iowa, born in Vinton, Iowa, who passed away on March 23, 2021 at the age of 46. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his father John McFarland; and his grandparents, Harvey, Pearl McFarland (Jungling), Bob, Alberta Vest, Marie "Babi" and Arnold Fields.

He is survived by : his mother Cathie McFarland (Vest) of Marion; his wife Sara Montague; his sons, Casen Levi McFarland, Colten Apfelbeck and Zach Barrett; his siblings, Angie McFarland of Brandon, Kayleen LaPointe of Afton and David McFarland (Brenda) of Washburn; his parents-in-law, Beverly and Gary Montague of Cedar Rapids; his sisters-in-law, Katie Montague (Bill McKenna) of Shellsburg and Gina Anderson (Matthew) of Shellsburg; and his nieces and nephews, Jackson, Kylie Anderson, Liam McKenna, Abby Brown, Zach LaPointe and Katie Maneely.

All guests attending should wear masks and practice social distancing.
