He was predeceased by: his parents, Eldon Cooling and Julia Cooling (Borton); his parent-in-law Robert; his siblings, Charles Cooling (Esther), Darol Cooling (Joyce), Dale Cooling, Dallas Cooling (Mary), Gary Cooling and LaVonne Walters (Walt); his siblings-in-law, Tom Malatek and Gloria Malatek; and his daughter-in-law Sue Cooling.
He is survived by: his wife Lois; his children, Kevin Cooling of Cedar Rapids, Jackie Brown (Mark) of Cedar Rapids and Kim Cooling of Ely; his grandchildren, Nicholas Cooling (Cassie), Christopher Cooling (Becca), Lauren Cooling and Morgan Brown; his great grandchildren, Carter, Corbin, Hayes and Miller Cooling; his siblings, Margaret Hajek (Dick), Garol Cooling (Ruth), Vernon Cooling (Ruth), Lyle Cooling (Joyce) and Duane Cooling (Debbie); and his siblings-in-law, Sheryl Tjelmeland (Allen), Sue Schulte (Jess), Patricia Malatek, Lu Ann Cooling and Pat Malatek. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
