He was predeceased by: his parents, Evelyn Tierney and Walter Tierney; his in-laws, Mike and Edna Pickar; his siblings-in-law, Donna Pickar and Mike Reicks; his stepmother Elda Tierney; and his grandparents, Theresa and Ernest Kutzbach.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Pickar; his caregiver Sandy Tierney of Elma, IA; his children, Chad Tierney (Leslie) of Denver, IA, Theresa Douglas (Josh) of New Hampton, IA and Casey Tierney (Kim) of Waukee, IA; his grandchildren, Mason, Sarah, Logan, Summer, Ashton, Braden, Ben, Kadyn, Mollie, Brooklyn, Addie and Kyle; and his siblings, Dennis Tierney (Joyce) of Charles City, IA, Becky Tierney of Des Moines, IA, Tom Tierney (Millisa) and Tim Tierney (Colleen) of Waterloo, IA. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
