She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, John Kolbet and Caroline Kolbet (Glaser); her husband John "Jack" McAvoy; her children, Frank McAvoy (Pat) of Suntan Valley, AZ, Carolyn Cozzolino of Camanche, IA, Joni Palmersheim (Joe) of Atkins, IA, Mary Hildman (Don) of Britt, IA, Karla Gardner of Mason City, IA, Beth Zadow (Mitch), Mike McAvoy of Hawarden, IA and Jim McAvoy (Joanne) of Alta Vista; her siblings, Lola Boss of Charles City, IA, Leonard, Laverne, Leo, Louis, Linus and Luella; and her grandchildren, Jay and Melissa. She was also cherished by 20 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Elma Emergency Services Building project.
