He was predeceased by: his parents, Earnest Lee and Lois C. Beem (Boyer); his brother Donald Beem; his parents-in-law, Anthony and Geneva Donovan; and his brother-in-law Elmer Applegarth.
He is survived by: his wife Angie of Emmetsburg, Iowa; his children, Coleen Ruddy (Doug) of Emmetsburg, Anna Peden (Chris) of Horizon City, Toni Hayes (James) of Hot Springs and Earnest "Earnie" Beem (Sheila D'Angelo) of Simi Valley, California; his grandson John Ruddy (Sara); his great grandchildren, Finnegan and Fallon; his grandchildren, Rachel Ruddy, Kelly Peden, James Hayes, Kayla and Angelina Beem; and his siblings-in-law, Lawana Beem, Joyce Donovan, Caroline Applegarth, Helen and Randy Duncan.
Lee was very generous to donate his artwork to fundraisers and benefits.
