He is survived by: his former wife Sheila Johnson; his son Nate Potts (Carri) of Elk Horn; his grandchildren, Trey Sander, Aiden Potts and Anna Potts; and his siblings, Karen (Mark Tompkins) of Ames, Gloria (Bruce Ahrendsen) of Panora and Tim Potts (Tracey) of Shelby. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
