He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Mardesen and Grace Mardesen; his wife Sara; and his brother Darrell Mardesen. He is survived by: his children, Heath Mardesen (Michelle) of Oxford, Adam Mardesen of Elk Horn and Katie Schmelzer (Tony) of Tiffin; his grandchildren, Mary Kate, Timothy Mardesen of Oxford, Hunter and Sam Schmelzer of Tiffin; his sister Sharon Nelson (Richard) of Omaha; and his siblings-in-law, Sue Mardesen of Elk Horn, Terry Sander (Neta) of Elk Horn and Carol Bartlett (David) of Chandler, Arizona. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations will be directed to Elk Horn Fire and Rescue.
