She was predeceased by: her parents, Hans Petersen and Freda Petersen (Larsen); her husband Glen; her daughter Debbie Piearson; and her siblings, Alice Smith, Robert Petersen and Frank Petersen.

She is survived by: her daughter Glen; and her grandchildren, Tammy Hoop (David) of Coeur, Jessica Marie and Jordan Alan.

In lieu of flowers, Helen wanted memorials directed to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or the Danish American Museum in Elk Horn.
