He is survived by: his daughters, Tina Birkholz (John) of Elgin and Mary Jo Guisler (Peter) of Elgin; his daughter-in-law Patricia Cassell of Asheboro; his grandchildren, Robert Cassell (Kelly), Tricia Beane (Derek), Mike Birkholz, Brian Birkholz, Andrew Guisler and Lauren Quinones (Jeremy); his great grandchildren, Jordan Cassell, Jacob Cassell and Lyndsey Cassell; his sister Mary Grace Messmore; his significant other Muriel Dickerson; and also George Punzalan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church of Elgin.
