He was predeceased by: his brother Edward; and his brother-in-law William Menke. He is survived by: his wives, John McDonald and Ellen; his daughters, Diane McFarlin (Peter Lopatin) and Barbara Weidner; his grandson Andriy McFarlin; and also, Barb McDonald, Terry, Marcia, Craig and Sara Marquardt. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, E. Dundee, or the Elgin Fire Barn No. 5 Museum.
