He is survived by: his children, Beth Small of Eldridge, Jim Small (Jennifer) of Granger and Tom Small (Kama) of Grinnell, Iowa; his grandchildren, Caitlin Maass (William), Courtney Nagle (Kent Reimers), Lucas Small, Logan Small, Anna Small, Emily Small and Amanda Small; his great grandchild Adalyn; his sister Margaret Pfohl (Richard) of Edina, Minnesota; his nephews, Richard, Matthew and Peter; his niece Molly; and his close friend Shara Robinson.
