He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerrit L. Vis and Jenny Grace Vis (DeBruin); his daughter Traci Hart; and his sisters, Norma Toom and Mary DeZwarte.
He is survived by: his wife Rita R. Brown; his children, Lisa Engler (David) of Eldridge and Michael Vis of Eldridge; his son-in-law John Hart; his grandchildren, Nicole, Kelly, Michael (Anna), Sean (Dashae), Allen, Logan, Ava and Matthew; and his great grandchildren, Elowen and Sylvie.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. Ann Church (16550 290th St, Long Grove, IA 52756). A Mass was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 at the St Ann's Catholic Church (16550 290th St, Long Grove, IA 52756).
Memorials may be made to St. Ann's, Eldridge Volunteer Fire Department, or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
