He was predeceased by: his parents, Lena McLean Cremer and Chod; his siblings, Roy, Richard, Fara, Dean, Madeline Dart, Myrna Rullman, Mec and Dude; and his pet Jaycee.

He is survived by: his children, Mark Cremer, Dana Gilbert and Charles "Marty" Cremer (Jill); his grandchildren, Marissa Baretich (Sean) of Tucson, AZ, Chod Gilbert (Lindsey) of North Liberty, IA, Sam and Sarah Schmidt of Agency, IA; his great grandchildren, Charlotte "Charli" Baretich and Danica "Dani" Baretich; his wife Joan Cremer; and his sister Margaret "Muggs" Guenther. He is also survived by children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Chod enveloped the simple philosophy of "just do something good", and it showed by his contribution to the Masonic fraternity, veterans organizations, family, friends and his community.
