He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Nelson and Betty Eldora Derby (Northup); and his son Jeffery Derby. He is survived by: his wife Miva Derby of Elberon; his children, Daniel Derby (Jennifer) of Belle Plaine, Christopher Derby (Makenzie) of Dysart, Stephanie Derby of Belle Plaine, Andrew Derby of Elberon and Nicholas Derby of Elberon; his daughter-in-law Kena Derby of Marshalltown; his grandchildren, Jamie, Katie Rich, Jackie, Rawnie, Dallas, Reid, Kion and Phineas Derby; and his siblings, Dallas Derby, Fred Derby, Stuart Derby (Doris), Kimberly Grimm (Terry), Valerie Lee (Bryan) and Melba Geib (Darrell).
