He is survived by: his wife Joan Kerns of Edgewood; his children, Terry Kerns (Jody) of Edgewood, Jim Kerns (Jody) of Edgewood, Judy Scott (Ray) of Marion and Rob Kerns (Janelle) of Iowa City; his grandchildren, Luke (Brooke), Katie Anderson (Drew), Baili Maurer (Brad), Payson, Maddy, Emma, Noelle, Ava, Amber Scott, Allison Scott, Mikinna, Cole, Teya and Tommy; his great grandchildren, Cora, Ada Kerns and Ellie Anderson; his siblings, Sally Harkins (Dennis) of Phoenix, Iva Mae Meyer of Oelwein, Jeanette Stanek of Hazleton and Roger Kerns (Lucille) of Fairbank; and his sister-in-law Diann Kerns of Oelwein.
