Gaul; his son Russell Hermsen; his granddaughter Nicole Sperfslage; his siblings, Helen Gaul (Eldon) and Harold Hermsen; and his parents-in-law, Lawrence Gaul, Laura Meyer (Ralph), Virgil Gaul (Helen), Germaine Gaul, Ken Vorwald, Tom Deutmeyer, Joyce Hermsen and Leander Gaul.
He is survived by: his children, Cindy Vorwald (Randy) of Edgewood, Doug Hermsen of Colesburg, Tammy Sperfslage (Kenny) of Edgewood, Jeff Hermsen (Patty VanMeter) of Manchester, Tim Hermsen (Kris) of Iowa Falls and Kurt Hermsen (Janet) of Madison, WI; his grandchildren, Jill Sampson, Wendy Goldsmith, Justin Vorwald, Jason, Kyle, Cory Sperfslage, Lindsay Weber, Mike, Ryan Hermsen, Kelsey Shortley, Travis, Tyler Hermsen, Sophie and Sam Hermsen; his siblings, Roger Hermsen (Grace) of Manchester, Bernice Vorwald of Dubuque, Gladys Burkle (Harry) of Dyersville, Elizabeth Deutmeyer of Petersburg and Arthur Hermsen of New Vienna; and his parents-in-law, Marvin Gaul of Holy Cross, Gerald Gaul (Joan) of Farley, Delores Gaul of Epworth and Diane Hermsen of New Vienna. He is also survived by 15 Great-Grandchildren.
